Microsoft Office 2016 beta for Mac available for free on OS X Yosemite with new features and design

Microsoft has rolled out a fairly substantial update for its Office 2016 for Mac preview, just over one month after its initial debut. The release brings a number of new features and a refreshed design, which includes a colored toolbar for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Most of the big changes were made to Word, which received scrolling performance improvements, support for keyboard shortcuts, better VoiceOver, new user information settings, and features like a custom dictionary.
Word also got a handy new search feature that allows users to find document templates online, and a macro recording feature. The update also brings lots of welcome bug fixes.
Like Word, PowerPoint also received better VoiceOver support and bug fixes, while Excel’s update added a new Analysis Toolpack, and a feature called “Solver.”

Office 2016 for Mac is currently in beta testing, and it’s available for free to all Mac users running OS X Yosemite. Microsoft plans to launch the software during the second half of 2015, at which point it will begin charging for it.
