How to automatically save images and videos received in the Messages app to Camera Roll [Jailbreak Tweak]

Normally, when you receive images or videos in the stock Messages app, they will not get saved to your Camera Roll. You need to save them manually. Apple hasn’t provided an option to enable this feature like WhatsApp, but MSGAutoSave8 is a new jailbreak tweak by developer sharedRoutine that aims to bring that functionality to Messages app.
The tweak was previously available for iOS 7, however the latest package now comes bundled with support for iOS 8 as well as a few new additional features.
MSGAutoSave8 lets you save all the media contents that you receive in the Messages app to your Camera Roll allowing you to view them later from the Photos app. The media contents include both images as well as videos received. This is quite similar to how WhatsApp handles the media contents you receive in the app.
The new functionality of the tweak, which was missing from the previous version, is that all the images and videos received in the Messages app will now be automatically saved to the Camera Roll without ever requiring you to open the Messages app or even view the media in the app.
With that said, the tweak comes with a couple of options which you can access from the its preference pane in the stock Settings app. From there, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, allow the tweak to save images and videos only when you confirm it as well as have them resized automatically to a specified resolution when saving.

MSGAutoSave8 will definitely save your time from having to search a particular conversation to find the image or video received earlier. If you’ve been looking for a way to automatically save images and videos received in the stock Messages app, you should definitely check out this new tweak.
MSGAutoSave8 is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free of charge.
