Apple Watch release in Italy, Singapore, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan on June 26
Apple Watch, Apple’s most personal device yet, first went on sale on April 24th in nine countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US.
After more than two months, Apple watch goes available in few more countries yesterday (June 26th). Apple Watch goes on sale in Italy, Singapore, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.
Apple Watch is powered by Apple’s custom-designed S1 SiP (System in Package), and includes revolutionary features such as the Digital Crown that lets you scroll, zoom, and navigate the display, which also works as a Home button and a convenient way to access Siri. The Retina Display on the Apple Watch features Force Touch, which adds a whole new dimension to the user interface, and one of the biggest innovation in sensing capability since multi-touch. It can sense the difference between a tap and a press, and accordingly provide access to controls within apps. Apple Watch also includes a Taptic engine for notifications, which many reviewers have said is the most impressive piece of technology of Apple Watch. It also includes a Heart Rate Apple Watch also features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with your iPhone. Apple Watch uses the accelerometer, a built-in heart rate sensor, GPS and Wi-Fi from your iPhone for health and fitness tracking features.
The Watch is compatible with recent iPhone models, including the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8 or later.
Pricing
Apple is selling the Watch in three different collections — Apple Watch, with a polished or space black stainless steel case; Apple Watch Sport, with a space gray or silver anodized aluminum case; and Apple Watch Edition, with an 18-karat rose or yellow gold case.
Apple Watch Sport is the least expensive model with prices starting at $349 for the 38mm model, and $399 for the 42mm model. This is followed by the Apple Watch, which commands a higher starting price tag of $549, which climbs to $1099 depending on the selected size and band options. Apple Watch Edition is the priciest Watch model with a base cost of $10,000 for the white sports band model.
Apple Watch straps include the Sport Band in black, blue, green, pink and white ($49); the Classic Buckle in black and midnight blue ($149); the Leather Loop in bright blue, light brown and stone ($149); the Modern Buckle in midnight blue, brown, soft pink, rose gray and bright red ($249); the Milanese Loop in stainless steel ($149); and the Link Bracelet in brushed stainless steel and polished space black ($449). The pricing would vary based on the exchange rate in the respective countries.
Availability
Apple Watch will be available in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan from the Apple Online Store, at Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. Some retail stores like 10 Corso Como in Milan, BOONTHESHOP Cheongdam in Seoul and Malmaison by The Hour Glass in Singapore will have a curated selection of Apple Watch available at launch. According to Apple’s Online Store in Singapore, Apple Watch will be available online after 1.01 pm.
