Rumor says Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge To Be Announced In February In Two Different Sizes
Now that Christmas is out of the way, attention can finally turn to the important things in life – new smartphone releases. Samsung has long been rumored to be getting ready to announce a new Galaxy S flagship phone, and a new report claims that the Galaxy S7 may not to be too far away at all.
In a new report, it is now claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy S7 will make an appearance in February of next year, meaning those holding off on buying a new phone before Samsung’s latest and greatest arrives will only have to wait a few more weeks before their buying decision gets a whole lot easier.
Actually, that may not strictly be the case with the news also seeping out that Samsung will be offering differing screen sizes for the new device, apparently in an attempt to try and sew up as much of the market as possible in the light of Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus giving iPhone buyers two screen sizes to choose from.
The report, which may be spot on or wildly inaccurate – we just don’t know yet – claims that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in two different sizes, with the former sporting a 5.2-inch flat display while the latter will have a 5.5-inch display curved at the edges.Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both feature the same 5.1-inch screen, though a larger Edge Plus with a 5.7-inch display did arrive at a later date. If Samsung is going to offer different screen sizes for its flat and curved handsets, choosing which to opt for may not be all that easy come February.
We’ve already seen renders of what the Galaxy S7 may look like and we have also heard that Samsung is working on pressure sensitive technology similar to Apple’s 3D Touch, but whether that tech will make its way to this year’s model is unknown.
Not for long, though!
