Apple denies the rumor of developing a tool to transfer data from ios users to android
Yesterday, a report surfaced that suggested that Apple was building a tool that would help iOS users switch to its main competing platform, Android, if they wanted to go down that route.
And while Apple doesn’t comment on rumors all that often, turns out this one was gaining enough traction, or just seemed ridiculous enough, that the company decided to end things before it got too out of hand. According to BuzzFeed News, an Apple spokesperson said, flatly, that there’s simply “no truth to this rumor,” and went on to point out that Apple wants people to switch from Android to iOS:
“There is no truth to this rumor. We are entirely focused on switching users from Android to iPhone, and that is going great.”
Apple does indeed have an app that helps Android users switch to iOS, and that’s apparently working out well for the company. The original report from The Telegraph said that Apple was working on the tool to help users switch from iOS to Android due to “pressure” from carriers in the European Union. Apple, for its part, has denied that altogether.
